Planet of Waves, 2019

Oil and emulsion on six plyboard panels, 122 x 122 cm

£1,800

This painting was completed in late summer 2019. My interest in wave-like forms started with my reflections on the ocean as a metaphor for universal consciousness; with all sentient, conscious beings, the waves on the ocean. Each wave unique, coming and going. But the ocean continues. Visually, the inspiration was Piet Mondrian's Pier and Ocean of 1915. This painting of random, receding waveforms on plyboard, comprises six panels primed in emulsion and painted separately in oils. The final image was formed only when the six completed panels had been joined together permanently. It is an imposing work that will provide a wow factor and conversation piece in any room. Would work well in a large hallway, communal office space or other public foyer. Please note the piece weighs 20 kilos and the price to weight ratio therefore makes it a more viable option for a UK buyer.
