This period in my development can be characterised by a non-linear approach to image making and a preoccupation in the paradox of creation through destruction. Instead of paint applied to canvas stretched to a fixed dimension, mixed media were used on plyboard panels that could be cut down or combined with other panels to form new compositions to startling effect. The paintings were executed on an individual basis, one at a time, sometimes over many months. These works are bold, physically imposing and dramatic, with a raw power that commands attention.
